Getting to know Nicollette Pizzoferrato
My name is Nicollette Pizzoferrato and I have been a board certified outpatient psychiatric nurse practitioner for 4 years. I love connecting with patients and getting to know them throughout our visits. Together we will find the medication combination most suitable to improve your symptoms. I love doing what I do and helping patients like you get back to your best self.
My approach
During our sessions, we will utilize medications to help balance abnormalities in one’s brain chemistry and alleviate distress. Medications are not a be all end all to fix everything but they are a step in the process to alleviating symptoms. Whether that takes one month or 100 months, you can feel confident I will be there for you every step of the way finding the best medication combination for you and your needs.
My focus
Before Rula, I worked in a community mental health facility treating patients with multiple different diagnoses ranging from depression to bipolar disorder, anxiety to OCD to PTSD, ADHD, and schizophrenia. My population focus is adults and geriatric patients age 18 and up.
My communication style
During our sessions, you can be confident that this is a safe space to share whatever you are comfortable sharing that day in order to get to the root of the problem at hand. You can guarantee there will never be any judgement or discrimination during our sessions and everyone will be treated equally. You can feel confident knowing you have a provider on your side helping you be the best you can be and get back to the person you know you are.

I felt like she listened to me and ACTUALLY tried to understand unlike alot of Dr's. She went above and beyond to make me feel cared about as a person, not "just another patient" or just another number. She is VERY knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. I did not feel rushed or like i was a burden or boring. I will continue to see her for as long as I can be her patient. I HIGHLY recommend Nicolette (I might have spelled that wrong). Phenomenal Dr. I feel like she went above and beyond in every aspect of the care and concern or help I needed.

Very kind and very helpful! It’s clear she takes her patients very seriously and after 20 minutes into our first appointment she had an entire plan and back up plan in case the new meds don’t work. She’s also cautious and won’t put you on a bunch of medications you don’t need, which is super awesome! It’s obvious right away that she cares about her patients and their health, so I definitely recommend her!

I’ve been dealing with trying to find the right provider as someone with a chronic illness, a complicated list of medications, where others have tried completely halting meds simply because of it being a controlled substance— without awareness to my illness or what withdrawal symptoms would be like.
