Getting to know Dr. Nidhi Goel
A perfect sync of mind, body, and soul is needed for a balanced and healthy lifestyle, and that is what I strive to achieve during the evaluation, psychiatric assessment, and treatment of my patients. I completed my medical education at Gajra Raja Medical College, earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. I then trained in psychiatry through residencies at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Beth Israel Medical Center, and Case Western Reserve University, Metro Health Medical Center. Additionally, I completed a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Beth Israel Medical Center.
My experience in a busy academic center as Director of Geriatric Psychiatry and Director of ECT services, along with teaching and supervising resident doctors and medical students, keeps me informed of the latest biological and therapeutic treatments for psychiatric illnesses. Training Geriatric Medicine fellows gives me an edge in treating mental illnesses with comorbid medical conditions and enhances my ability to consider and diagnose possible medical causes responsible for presenting psychiatric symptoms, ensuring comprehensive and accurate treatment.
I conduct comprehensive assessments to understand how biological, psychological, and social factors from a person's past and present interact and contribute to psychiatric symptoms. I provide psychopharmacological treatment and brief psychotherapy when needed to alleviate these symptoms. I offer treatment for a wide variety of anxiety and mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. I also provide guidance and support to family members or caretakers of patients suffering from dementias and discuss end-of-life issues. I offer telepsychiatry services exclusively within the states of New York and New Jersey.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Although I provide med management and supportive counselling to all my clients. Every individual is unique and I take into consideration client's preference and also discuss other integrative approaches. We will together come up with a care plan that will be geared towards your treatment journey while attempting to minimize risks associated.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I have incorporated cutting edge digital technology to help assist clients in the practice to optimize the outcomes. Clients can choose to do comprehensive history verbally on a smart devise prior to their first visit (link will be sent upon completion of registration) so we can have a more meaningful first session and can come up with a proper care plan during our first intake session. Follow up sessions will always be offered at full 30 min slots if you chose to spend that time for a session.

Initial session: $495 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $295 for 30 minutes

A Valid Credit card information will be required to be on file prior to the session and fee will be due at the time of session which you can choose to pay either by Zelle, cash or pay via credit card on the file.
Session fees $495 for intake and $295 for follow up. There is a No Show policy for appointments not cancelled prior to 24 hrs of appointment time and will be charged at $200

I've been to many psychologists, but this was my first visit with a psychiatrist. Dr. Goel was a great listener. She was warm and inviting, nonjudgmental, and asked a lot about my history and symptoms before providing potential options. I had known going in that I was most likely going to want to go back on a medication that had previously worked well for me, buy Dr. Goel was sure to provide me with all my options first and work collaboratively to make a decision. I didn't feel pushed into making any commitments I wasn't 100% comfortable with, and she even offered to look at some recent lab work I'd had done by my primary care physician to see if there's anything else she can help with. This was my first visit with her, but I'd highly recommend her so far. We have a follow up appointment scheduled to check in on my symptoms and how my medication is working in a few weeks.

Dr Goel is fantastic. She is a very warm, kind, and skilled doctor. Within the first visit, Dr Goel listened very attentively and correctly identified that I had been suffering due to being misdiagnosed as unipolar depression. Her diagnosis and treatment plan have greatly improved my mood and overall health and well-being, and most importantly, my life. I highly recommend Dr Goel, best psychiatrist I have seen by far.
