About Dr. Nilam Patel
Dr. Nilam C. Patel, MD is an accomplished physician with a strong background in clinical care and leadership. A Birmingham native, Dr. Patel graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, where he received the Excellence in Emergency Medicine Award.
Dr. Patel completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, serving as Chief Resident and earning multiple honors, including the Resident Teacher of the Year award. Over the course of his career, he has held leadership roles at numerous medical centers and demonstrated a deep commitment to patient care and mentorship.
Dr. Patel is excited to join the True Dermatology team, where he will be seeing and treating patients with a focus on dermatological issues. He brings valuable experience and a patient-centered approach to his practice, committed to enhancing skin health and well-being for individuals in the Birmingham community.
In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys playing golf, traveling, playing the dolak (Indian drum), and spending time with his wife, Margi, and their three children, Misha, Anaya, and Param.
