About Dr. Nima Madanchi
Dr. Nima Madanchi is a board-certified rheumatologist and internal medicine physician who provides personalized, evidence-based care for adults with autoimmune and rheumatologic conditions. He treats patients with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory arthritis, osteoporosis and other complex conditions affecting the joints, bones and immune system.
Dr. Madanchi completed his internal medicine residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center, followed by a rheumatology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University. He then completed an advanced lupus fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, where he received specialized training in the evaluation and treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus.
His approach combines current medical research with attentive, patient-centered care. Dr. Madanchi believes that effective treatment begins with listening carefully, explaining medical conditions clearly and involving patients in decisions about their care. He works closely with each patient to develop a thoughtful treatment plan based on their symptoms, lifestyle and long-term health goals.
Dr. Madanchi has also contributed to research involving lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, vitamin D and autoimmune complications. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology.

Doctor Madanchi was a wonderful doctor to interact with- he listened to my concerns and did not dismiss my pain like many doctors in the past have. He also asked several questions about my medical history that helped him better understand my situation, and was open to ordering several lab tests to better diagnose my condition. He was very professional and one of the few doctors I have interacted with that I felt heard and validated as a patient. Highly recommend him!
