Dr. Patel was very nice. However, I came in for an annual eye exam and indicating I wanted a dilation as well. I did not like that I had an extra test done Dr. Patel and it was not mentioned at all that it wasn't covered by my insurance, so upon checkout I had to pay for it. Additionally they charged me my copay when I specifically said I came for an annual eye exam. Just FYI they also charge a separate fee if you want a prescription for eyeglasses (which is definitely something I have never heard of from seeing other ophthalmologists in the past).

Dr. Patel was very thorough in her examination and did not overlook any details. She was considerate and listened to all of my concerns. I felt that she would get to the root of my issue.

Dr. Patel received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. She did her Internal Medicine residency at Stony Brook Medical Center in Long Island, New York and went on to complete an Ophthalmology residency at the NYU Medical Center. Dr. Patel further enhanced her training in Ophthalmology by subspecialty fellowship training in Glaucoma at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Patel is an Ophthalmic surgeon with special interest in management and surgical/laser treatments of glaucoma. Prior to opening her practice as Eye Health & Surgical Care, Dr. Patel has had more than 10 years of experience in General Ophthalmology and Glaucoma and has practiced in Ohio and Texas. The experience at these large volume practices has strengthened Dr. Patel‘s clinical and surgical skills with proficiency in latest diagnostic and surgical techniques.

I arrived before my scheduled appointment which was at 1:00 pm, right after the lunch break. After I waited for 27 minutes, the doctor arrived but offered no apology or explanation for the delay. When I looked at my watch, she acknowledged that it was 1:27 and asked if I had to go somewhere.
On the positive side, the exam was thorough, and she explained the results of her examination very clearly.

I have had great experiences with Dr. Patel. I found her 4 years ago online, after struggling with my contact lenses due to long hours in school and seasonal allergies. She switched my contact lenses and my solution, and since haven't had any issues. I just recently went in for a check up and received the same great service. I waited less than 5 minutes, was in and out of the exam room in 30 minutes, and back to work before lunch.

I was not impressed. Took my insurance but ended up charging me way more than my insurance even covered for extra tests without even asking me. Afterwards, I wanted to get contacts and glasses; however, the lady in the frames department small talked with another patient for about 15 mins. Once she finally came to me, she was pretty rude. I will not be going to this doctor again and would not recommend them. The 5 star rating was misleading for me.
