About Dr. Karann Jillian Ermis
Jillian Ermis, O.D. is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist providing comprehensive vision and medical eye care to patients in Houston and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Ermis earned her undergraduate degree in Medical Humanities from Baylor University, where she completed minors in Biology and Chemistry. While at Baylor, she was actively involved on campus as a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and the Baylor Club Tennis Team, combining her academic pursuits with leadership and athletics.
She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating magna cum laude. During her clinical training, Dr. Ermis was recognized for excellence in patient care and earned multiple honors throughout her rotations. Her experience includes pediatric eye care, dry eye management, specialty contact lens fittings, and surgical co-management. She completed rotations in the University’s Dry Eye Clinic and Ambulatory Surgical Center, along with externships in both community and private practice settings.
Dr. Ermis maintains involvement with national optometric organizations and has represented her training program at professional conferences across the country. She has a particular passion for working with children and fitting specialty contact lenses, helping patients achieve clear and comfortable vision when traditional options fall short.
Outside of the office, Dr. Ermis enjoys competing in USTA tennis leagues throughout the greater Houston area and teaching tennis lessons to youth players.
