“My appt. with Dr. Nina was great. I had some medication questions and some self-induced guilt regarding them, and she validated that I should not feel bad about taking medicine that helps me function better as a mother and just for myself. A lot of the appt. was a thorough intake of my history, but that was all expected and we were still able to get to some of the personal nitty gritty details/reasons for my appointment. She did get warmer as the appt. went on and rapport was established. I would definitely recommend her and hope to follow up with her again, just to stay in check about everything!”

Dr. Jaffarzad is a board eligible adult psychiatrist who completed her undergraduate training at the University of Texas at Austin and earned her medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean. She completed her psychiatry residency at Louisiana State University Our Lady of the Lake Psychiatry Residency Program.
After completing residency, she worked in an outpatient setting and provided consultation liaison services at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Moreover, she held volunteer academic positions supervising and instructing residents and medical students. She has experience treating culturally diverse patient populations with a variety of mental health conditions.
Dr. Jaffarzad offers primarily medication management in conjunction with supportive therapy during follow up visits. She values the importance of open communication and a strong doctor-patient therapeutic alliance.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.
