About Dr. Nora Zoe Ramos-Carthew

Dr. Nora Zoe Ramos-Carthew is a highly experienced, board-certified foot and ankle surgeon with over 20 years of expertise. Passionate about helping people stay active and pain-free, she is proud to serve the East Bay Area with compassionate, cutting-edge podiatric care. A Journey of Expertise & Service Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Ramos pursued her Biology degree at the University of Puerto Rico before earning her doctorate at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami. She then completed rigorous surgical training at Westchester General Hospital and became board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). She is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. With a rich background in private practice—12 years in Coral Gables, FL, and 8 years in Houston, TX—Dr. Ramos has treated a wide range of foot and ankle conditions. Her journey took her across the globe when her family moved to Angola, Africa, where she volunteered her skills to treat wounds among street children. Though she has since returned to the U.S., the experience left an indelible mark on her heart. Beyond the Clinic: Community & Movement Dr. Ramos is deeply committed to serving her community. She has volunteered at the San Jose Clinic in Houston, the Order of Malta Clinic in Oakland, and participated in medical missions in Peru and Guatemala. A passionate speaker, she has shared her expertise at specialty shoe stores, diabetic groups, and running clubs. Inspired by her time as a volunteer podiatrist for the Houston Marathon, Dr. Ramos became an avid runner herself, completing multiple half marathons in Texas and California. She and her husband continue to train for endurance races, embracing the very movement and active lifestyle she encourages in her patients. Whether treating heel pain, ingrown toenails, or chronic wounds, Dr. Ramos’s goal is simple: to help you move forward, pain-free.

She was clear and technical and made sure I understood the xrays and what we were seeing, and things I could do to help and things I shouldn't do.
