About Ofiong Okon
Ofiong Okon is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping clients achieve optimal health. She currently sees patients of all ages and specializes in providing care to the transgender community and persons living with HIV.
Ofiong received her bachelor’s degree from Seattle University and her Master’s in Nursing from New York University. Over the last 10 years, she has passionately provided care for underserved populations in hopes of reducing health disparities within marginalized communities. Ofiong is highly interested in sharing knowledge about lifestyle and preventive medicine resources to empower patients to reach overall wellness.
Before joining LaSante Health Center, Ofiong worked on health mobile vans and in various clinics throughout NYC, providing individualized care for persons with acute and chronic conditions. She was featured in Business Insider magazine for her work in offering PrEP/PEP to underserved communities and advocating for access to equitable and quality health care services. At LaSante, Ofiong offers care to a diverse population of individuals in need of proper guidance. She speaks English and Spanish. When she is not helping improve the wellness of others, Ofiong enjoys participating in long-distance running and hiking.
