Dr. Ola El-Sheikh, originally from Chicago, Illinois, earned her doctorate degree at Barry University College of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, FL in 2018. There she also received the Dr. William Delavari Memorial Podiatric Medicine Award for exemplifying the traits of dedication and commitment to the profession of podiatric medicine. She then continued her medical and surgical training by completing a three-year residency at Beaumont Hospital in the metro Detroit area where she excelled and graduated as chief resident in 2021. She is happy and excited to be bringing her diverse training and exceptional skills to the SWFL area. She is a member of the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and the American Podiatric Medical Association. Throughout her three year residency as an Ankle & Foot Specialist, Dr. El-Sheikh received extensive training in managing all aspects of foot and ankle pathologies including sports medicine, trauma, limb salvage, wound care, dermatological diseases, pediatric foot pain, and surgery; both reconstructive and elective. She holds additional certifications in comprehensive and advanced internal fixation, as well as ankle arthroscopy. In 2019, she helped organize and go on a medical mission trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras for patients with pediatric pedal deformities. She also attended and completed the Bako Podiatric Dermatology-Dermatopathology mini-fellowship in 2020. These experiences have allowed Dr. El-Sheikh to develop a more extensive arsenal of knowledge and skill to treat difficult conditions both conservatively, and if necessary, surgically. Dr. El-Sheikh enjoys educating patients about their conditions in order to empower them to become the best advocate for their own health. Dr. El-Sheikh enjoys traveling, boxing, and outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking, and enjoying the ocean and beach. She also has a fondness for city life, diverse cultures, foods, and learning people’s stories. She relishes giving back to those in need–and has been known to volunteer for health screenings, assist injured weekend warriors in marathons as well as throwing pizza parties for children at shelters (pre-COVID).
