Prior to her medical career, Dr. Izakson was an award-winning environment and science newspaper reporter, with work published in newspapers, magazines, books, and online media. Outside of practice, she continues her mission of educating the public about full-spectrum plant medicine through public presentations and online education. Dr. Izakson is vice president of the Alaska Association of Naturopathic Doctors, a member of the Climate Psychiatry Alliance, and founder of the Naturopathic Climate Alliance. An avid photographer since childhood, Dr. Orna can often be found sprawled by the side of the road with her camera lens set uncomfortably close to some pretty flower.
