About Dr. Paddy Kalish
With his broad education and international training, Dr. Paddy Kalish is an optometrist proudly serving Brookline and Greater Boston. Dr. Kalish highly values giving each patient one-on-one time and personal attention. He is friendly and detail-oriented, with a passion for high-quality care and a great patient experience. Dr. Kalish offers his patients a special focus in orthokeratology, which is an important refractive therapy that uses special contact lenses to improve patient vision over time.
Dr. Kalish has an unconventional background as an optometrist, holding both a Doctor of Optometry and a professional law degree. Dr. Kalish earned his OD at the New England College of Optometry in 1987. With his love of learning, Dr. Kalish was committed to completing a robust training background for patient care that was effective and comfortable. He began with his first residency at Healthcare America Medical Group in Florida, and he was then inspired to pursue his second residency at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem. Dr. Kalish wanted to go abroad to learn new techniques for treatment, and to gain experience with a variety of patient needs and backgrounds. After practicing optometry for a number of years, Dr. Kalish developed a side interest in law and the ways it relates to medical care. Eventually Dr. Kalish graduated from Northwestern California School of Law in 2006, and he remains involved in the American Bar Association to this day.
In his spare time, Dr. Kalish loves to travel, and he has a variety of law-related hobbies. He is fluent in both English and Polish, and is happy to meet with patients in either language.

While the doctor was wonderful, I felt quite mislead and uncomfortable with how the payment for the appointment was handled. I came in specifically for an annual check-up and verified at the front desk that I wouldn't get charged for anything else. When it came to paying for the appointment, the woman in the front desk typed some numbers, took my card from the table, and directly inserted it to pay WITHOUT telling me the details of how much she was charging me or what I was being charged for. When I intervened, she explained some additional costs that were NOT communicated to me whatsoever. Partially on me to question every little thing they do to ensure its within network -- but never in my life have I had my card literally taken and inserted to pay for an unknown amount. Extremely rude. When I gave my feedback, the woman did not apologize. You can have a better experience elsewhere, and save yourself some time and money.
