Dr. Murakonda holds a medical degree from Nagarjuna University in India and completed a rotating internship at the University General Hospital in Vijayawada, India. In New York, she finished her Internal Medicine residency at Catholic Medical Center through the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and her fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center through New York Medical College.
In 1999, Dr. Murakonda joined the faculty of Geriatric Medicine at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, now Montefiore Medical Center, Wakefield Campus. She is certified by the American Boards in Geriatric Medicine (three certifications) and in Internal Medicine (two certifications). She is a member in good standing of the American College of Physicians, the American Geriatrics Society, and the American Medical Directors Association.
