“Despite the wait, I really appreciate having Dr. Shah and Joyce as my care providers. They are such a sweet bunch. I especially appreciate them and the pharmacy staff for helping me out when my blood sugar was low and I collapsed on the floor.
I’ll admit that the test that they administered on me did hurt, but otherwise, it was worth them wanting to spend time getting to know my health better.
I highly recommend giving them a shot, if need-be.”

About Dr. Parvez Shah

Dr. Shah, born in Sindh, Pakistan, received his primary education in New Delhi, India, and then subsequently returned to Pakistan. He completed his medical school at Dow Medical College in Karachi, earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree. He then pursued higher education in the United Kingdom, where he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. In 1971, he came to the United States and completed his surgery residency as well as his urology residency at University Health Truman Medical Center.
He has served as an associate professor of clinical urology at George Washington University. Dr. Shah has been active in organizing the Pakistani-American community, serving as president of the Dow Medical College alumni association (DOGANA). He was also one of the early members who helped strengthen the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent from North America (APPNA) during its infancy and has served as president of both DOGANA and APPNA. Additionally, he serves as a member of the PAKPAC board of directors and has held roles as secretary and president of PAKPAC in the past.

Appointment set at 11:30 only one person in front of me. Dr. didn’t even show up to office until 12:30. Wasn’t seen until 1:30. Dr. Call me into the office ask questions I already answered on the check in process. Only to ask me if I read the booklet in which I was never told about. Sent me back out to waiting room to read a 2 page brochure and wait for him to call me back in. He also discuss personally info of another patient in the lobby for everyone else to hear. I will say, the receptionist were very friendly. Too bad the Dr. has no bed side manners and views his patients as monetary customers instead of patients. Definitely not returning for services.

Office staff seemed a little disorganized.

The provider's staff called in advance and help identify goals and prioritize my visit. Apparently they were aware I was using Zocdoc. Rather than book another meeting after reviewing recent lab work the Dr did an immediate scope, something I was going to have to wait weeks for elsewhere. I am extremely happy. This was the best provider experience that I have ever had as a 54 year old male.

I found out the morning of the appointment I had to pay a large fee just for a consultation to find out the price of an overpriced procedure when I read online that it should cost at least 1/4 of that.

First time visiting Dr. Shah, and I am very happy with my visit! From start to finish, staff was very nice and on top of everything, practically no wait time. Then Dr Shah came in and did his thing! I was shocked by how thorough and ready he was to do whatever was needed to diagnose. Best Urologist I have ever been to. 5 stars all the way!

I was only expecting a consultation, but Dr. Shah did a complete and thorough exam. He was very realistic about what to expect. Even though it is quite a drive for me, I will continue to see him.

I went in for a consultation of a testicular mass. The doctor did no examination and only ordered an ultrasound and a urinalysis. I was told there was nothing wrong. now the mass has more than tripled in size. If I lose one of my testicles it will be because of this doctor's negligence at not taking me seriously when more could have been done.

The receptionist staff was friendly although things seemed a little in disarray. I wish the the doctor had communicated to me with more clarity the procedure I’d have to undergo today.
