Patience Amune, APRN, RN, NP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
FL
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I focus in holistic, patient-centered approach to mental healthcare, blending assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of mental health conditions. Providing a combination of brief supportive psychotherapy, medication management, and support to address mental health concerns across the lifespan. If you need to cry, this is a safe space to do so, I've been there too and can empathize on a personal level. I have an educational approach so you always know what side-effects or interactions may occur from any treatment option. Together we will look deeply at your symptoms and find the treatment plan that helps you become the healthiest version of you. I typically work with a diverse range of patients 12 to 55 years old who are managing various mental health conditions. I’m most comfortable treating mood disorders like depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders (such as generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and social anxiety), trauma-related disorders (including PTSD), insomnia, ADHD, OCD, ODD, and those navigating life transitions or coping with stress. My approach is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Mental health has made a huge impact on my own life. Growing up, mental health was a taboo topic, and through my extensive nursing experience and education, I learned what the smallest signs of things like depression, anxiety, and unhealthy coping mechanisms look like. I realized that people close to me had been suffering for a long time without help, and it has now become a personal passion of mine to destigmatize conversations about mental health in every culture. As a PMHNP, I approach goal setting with patients in a collaborative and individualized manner. The process is focused on empowering patients to actively participate in their own care and to establish goals that are meaningful and achievable for them.
