Getting to know Dr. Patricia Klaine
Dr. Patricia Klaine is an attending physician working at Talkiatry. She is board certified in adult psychiatry. After completing her training in adult psychiatry, she continued her education by completing a fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry which enables her to confidently treat patients with a variety of medical comorbidities. Dr. Klaine focuses on medication management. She offers this in addition to supportive psychotherapy in 30-minute follow up visits. For some patients, it may be important to bring in additional psychotherapy for well-rounded care.
Dr. Klaine received her medical degree from St. George's University in Grenada. Following that she completed her training in general adult psychiatry at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She went on to complete a fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. After completing her training, she worked on an inpatient psychiatric unit before deciding to transition into outpatient psychiatric care. She looks forward to a collaborative relationship with her patients.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

I recognize that this provider may use different apps for advertising their services, scheduling, electronic medical records, etc. However, Dr. Klein uses 3 (ZocDoc, Talkiatry, and Healow), none of which seem to talk to each other. As a result, something must have slipped through the cracks and despite scheduling a visit (on Zoc Doc) and filling out forms for my visit in advance and confirming with my insurance (on Talkiatry) for advertising, the office forgot to send a link to my video visit prior to my appointment. After my appointment was set to begin, the secretary tried sending me links with Talkiatry that led to error codes. She asked me to download Healow, but Dr. Klein needed an update to her app and then still wasn’t able to join the visit. After 30-45 minutes, it made no sense to keep trying. Although nice, they seem disorganized. They offered another appointment but I declined since I have no reason to expect things to be different if they can’t keep up with all their apps.
