Getting to know Patricia Lawrence

Patricia is currently unable to prescribe controlled medications. Patricia specializes in individualizing care to your needs and has over 36 years of healthcare experience in multiple specialties. She is passionate about helping people achieve an exceptional life by teaching them how to apply both nonpharmacological skills and best practices for utilizing psychiatric medications. To effectively move through the difficulties life throws at us, it takes a wide variety of tools, individualized to meet our personal situation. She earned a master's degree in Family Health Nursing from the University of Colorado Denver while working as a public health nurse on the Dina's Reservation in Northern Arizona. She earned the Navajo Area Exceptional Performance Award for designing a community diabetes program. While working in forensic psychiatry in the Colorado Corrections system, she completed a post-master's certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Missouri. She is also certified as a geriatric nurse practitioner and has worked with older adults in the Eastern Colorado Veterans Health Care System. She is currently working on creating pilot online courses designed to help people manage stress and anxiety when medications can't do it all.

Honestly the worst experience I’ve had with a mental health care provider. The ONLY thing she cared about was my previous medications, and the fact that 2 of them were controlled substances, so she couldn’t prescribe. Had she listened to me, I would have told her I’m not taking any of my medications and I’m looking for consult/advice. I can’t imagine taking any advice from this woman.
