Dr. Patrick Briggs earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California in 1998. He went on to complete a primary podiatric medicine and surgical residency at VA West Los Angeles (affiliated with UCLA). His surgical residency was performed in Houston, Texas and completed in 2001. He is board certified by The American Board of Podiatric Surgery in foot and reconstructive rear foot and ankle surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Briggs has a passion for practicing cost effective, evidence based, and compassionate medicine. He believes many conditions can be treated conservatively. He realizes surgical care is often warranted, but should be thoroughly discussed with the patient. Dr. Briggs specializes in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery including total ankle replacement and reconstruction, flatfoot, pediatrics, trauma, sports medicine and diabetic complications. He is active with many FDA approved research clinical studies out of the Clear Lake Area and is a clinical instructor with the Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency Program of West Houston Medical Center. He has staff privileges at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, Bay Area Surgicare Center and South Shore SC. Dr. Briggs graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Kinesiology/Exercise physiology. He is an avid outdoors man and in his spare time enjoys competing in triathlons and playing golf. He also enjoys traveling and photography.
