Hello, I'm Patrick Crook. I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Columbia, SC working with clients in South Carolina. I work with adolescents and adults, specializing in medication management for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD and PTSD. My approach I utilize a holistic client-centered approach to care. I focus on overall wellness and not just the presenting symptoms. I utilize brief psychotherapy combined with medication management to meet clients' goals and objectives, while trying to minimize any side effects. My focus I typically work with teens and adults of all ages. Having served in military, I can relate to and work well with veterans. I have a great deal of experience treating anxiety, PTSD, depression, mood disorders, ADHD and sleep disorders. My communication style I utilize a calm, open, empathetic environment, that allows clients to feel comfortable sharing thoughts, feelings and emotions without judgement. I encourage questions and feedback. My journey to mental healthcare I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, based in South Carolina. I received my Masters in Nursing from Duquesne University (Forensic Nursing), Post-Masters in Nursing from University of Virginia (PMHNP). I served in both U.S. Navy and U.S. Public Health Service, retired in 2019. I have been practicing for 12 yrs. I have experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. My goals for you I use a collaborative approach to goal setting. I assist clients in setting realistic goals based on their desired outcomes.
