Patrick J McGahan, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, shoulder reconstruction, and arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. He was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. After graduating from Jesuit High School, he attended UCLA where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology. He then went on to UC Davis Medical School where he received the UC Davis School of Medicine Medal recognizing overall academic excellence. He completed his orthopaedic surgery training at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program based out of St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco. Following this, he completed an additional year of fellowship training at the San Diego Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Fellowship in San Diego, CA. While in San Diego, he had the opportunity to specialize and receive fellowship training in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction. Among others, he had the experience of working with the San Diego Padres and the San Diego State Athletic Department. Following this, he moved to San Francisco where he joined a busy private practice. He is committed to utilizing the latest technology in order to offer his patients the best operative and non-operative solutions with the fastest recovery possible.
