He maintains a private practice in New York, NY Spine Care, in addition to his affiliation with NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell and NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital, where he also serves as Director of Spinal Surgery. Lower Manhattan Hospital is a not-for-profit, acute care, teaching hospital in New York City and is one of the few hospitals in Lower Manhattan south of Greenwich Village. Within the practice, there are three other languages spoken, including Spanish, polish, and French, which enhances his communication with patients coming from different cultural backgrounds.
An extraordinary orthopedic surgeon featuring an astonishing 33 years of occupational history in his specialty, Dr. Paul M. Brisson earned his medical degree from the University of Montreal’s School of Medicine in Quebec, Canada, in 1979. He has then completed a wide range of post-graduate training, including residencies in General and Orthopedic Surgery at McGill University’s Teaching Hospital Network, a Spinal Surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York, and a Fellowship for Spinal Surgery at Buffalo General Hospital, where he worked with pioneering spinal surgeon Dr. Edward D. Simmons.

This was truly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a doctor. All of my symptoms and pain were downplayed and it felt as though he was just checking through the boxes to get me in and out of there. I have suffered from chronic back pain for the past four years of my life. At the end of my appointment, as i was crying because of how tired I am of the pain, he said “You seem to be living day to day life fine, it’s just uncomfortable” and told me that he would get me an x ray since “i seemed so bothered”. I can confirm that I am in fact NOT living life day to day just fine. I will never be going back to this doctor and I can’t wait to find one that is actually concerned about my well being.

I had a very unpleasant experience with this doctor and their team. I arrived 30 minutes early for my appointment, only to be told by the receptionist that the doctor had left an hour earlier because there were no more patients. She then called the Manhattan office, which had no record of my appointment.
Shortly after, I received a call from someone claiming the doctor never showed up at the Queens office and, therefore, couldn’t see me. However, I had already been informed by the Queens receptionist that the doctor had left for the day. It’s clear that someone mishandled the situation, and I was even lied to.
When I contacted ZocDoc, they confirmed that the office manages its own ZocDoc account, and my appointment was indeed booked and marked as confirmed almost immediately.
This office’s lack of professionalism and dishonesty is unacceptable. They wasted my time, gas, and, most importantly, left me in severe pain without care. I do not recommend this office to anyone.
