About Dr. Paul Wagner

Paul D. Wagner, MD, FACP, is board certified in Internal Medicine and serves as a Primary Care Provider at San Diego Medical Group.
Dr. Wagner completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and subsequently became board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Wagner is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the largest society of internists in the world, with a membership of more than 160,000 internists and related subspecialists. Internists specialize in the prevention, detection, and treatment of illnesses in adults.
He was elected as a Fellow of the ACP upon the recommendation of his peers and the review of the ACP Credentials Subcommittee. He may now use the letters ?FACP? - Fellow of the American College of Physicians - after his name in recognition of this honor.
Fellowship with the ACP is an honorary designation recognizing achievements in Internal Medicine and contributions to the practice of medicine. Fellowship is a mark of distinction. Nice guy who helped me out in a pinch. Would recommend if you need to see someone quickly to refill your meds.
I really don't like the mandatory one-year follow up that you cannot cancel until shortly before the appointment. I feel like it's a way to charge people for reasonably forgetting to attend an appointment a year in the future they may not even need.

It was fine; I'm a little annoyed that I took the time to fill out the online pre-registration and forms through the app, but I still had to fill out hard copies in the office that were completly different. Dr. Wagner didn't even look at the online forms. Annoying, not thorough, I wish he had read though my charts (electronic and hard copies) before he walked in the door.

It took too long to see Doctor Wagner. My appointment was at 4:30, I saw him until 5:20. I did not like that. It was my first time in your office. I Hope next time, I see him in a reasonable time.

Dr. Wagner is the 4th PCP I've had in 3 years. This (my 1st appt.) was a really nice experience. I really liked the way Dr. Wagner talked to me. I feel like he was happy to have me as his patient and he wants to give me the best possible treatment. I felt very comfortable with the doctor and his office staff. They were all very pleasant, efficient, and informatitive. They pleasantly answered all of my questions and gave me the necessary information I needed to get my tests done and referrals.
I really like the computerized check-in. They accept cash, credit cards, and debit. I forgot to ask if they accept checks. They also validate parking if you park in the garage next to his office.
I would refer him to my family and friends.

This entire process absolutely sucked. It took an imaging place almost a month to schedule an ultrasound. The same ultrasound where it took them all of 20 minutes to perform. The burden was placed on me to coordinate all of this since the orders were incorrect. I was told by your office that if I wanted to be seen sooner I should go to the ER for imaging and testing. (and likely wait 6 hours there to get this done and spend more on my ER deductible.) I am super glad I am ordinarily healthy. The medical process sucked. Thank God it wasn't anything life threatening or I would be dead before treated. Also, for the intense pain I was having...one month ago, the doc just dismissed it as "I'm young and healthy..." Good luck on his golf game and BMW 7 series. All that hassle and I leave no better than when I was a month ago in knowing what exactly caused any of this in the first place. I didn't even get any advice on how to work with the gallstones they found on my right side other than to live with it.

Dr. Wagner is a very kind and professional doctor. The staff was also very pleasant (on my first visit, the receptionist said "Welcome, it's nice to meet you!"). Also, my appointment time was 4:45 pm and I was seen at exactly 4:45 pm, which we all know is VERY rare for a doctor.. Highly recommend.

Dr Wagner has been my doctor for over 15 years. He is persistent and extremely knowledgeable. He is courteous, caring, gentle, and compassionate. He explains the options of treatment and allows me to make the final decision. He is always willing to hear all my questions patiently. He is very busy but I never feel rushed. He is as good as it gets. I highly recommend Dr. Wagner. His staff is also very helpful and friendly. Prescriptions are called and filled in a timely manner. I've had no problem scheduling appointments even at short notice. Thank you Dr Wagner at San Diego Medical Group and all your staff for all the wonderful years of service.
