About Dr. Petrina Yokay
Dr. Yokay is a foot and ankle surgeon at two locations in Orange county. She completed her residency training at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital with extensive training in trauma and arthroscopic surgery, as well as forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction surgery. Dr. Yokay was given the honor of being the Chief Resident the final year of her residency training.
Dr. Yokay grew up in Sacramento, California and completed her undergraduate training at Auburn University in Alabama, where she received a full athletic scholarship for gymnastics and competed for four years. She received multiple awards for athletics and academics during her time at Auburn. Dr. Yokay graduated with a degree in chemistry and developed an interest in foot and ankle medicine from the many injuries she sustained throughout her gymnastics career.
After this, Dr. Yokay completed her medical education at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where she graduated cum laude and was the recipient of multiple academic awards including being inducted into the National Chapter of Pi Delta. Following this, she was accepted into the prestigious Long Island Jewish/North Shore University Hospital Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Program, where she completed her residency training.
I’ve done gymnastics since I was two, and over the years I’ve had countless foot and ankle injuries. Dealing with these lower extremity injuries and my interest in biomechanics and anatomy inspired me to pursue podiatry.

Dr. Yokay and her staff were awesome! Very nice, personable, understanding, and knowledgeable. I injured myself the night before and was luckily able to get an appt the next morning with an MRI booked for that same day with the help of her staff. They made it a great experience for an otherwise not so great injury. Highly recommend!!

I saw Dr. Yokay on September 15. She was kind and patient, and I appreciated the way she answered my questions.
Unfortunately, the treatment process was very disappointing. She asked me to stop the medication I had been using, but the prescription she gave me was not available at the pharmacy. Even after my follow-up on September 24, I still did not receive the proper medication. She later changed the prescription and canceled it again, and the replacement was extremely expensive and not covered by insurance.
This left me without any medication at all. I contacted her clinic, and the assistant promised to follow up, but I never received a reply. Even the pharmacy could not reach her.
Because of this, I cannot comment on the effectiveness of her treatment. What I can say is that the lack of communication and coordination left me very frustrated. I truly hoped to join the many patients giving her five stars, but this experience was disappointing, and I feel it is important to share.
