About Dr. Phuong Tran
Dr. Phuong Tran, M.D. was born in Duluth, Minnesota but spent most of his life growing up in Texas. He earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Houston in 2002 prior to completing his medical training at UT Southwestern in Dallas in 2006. He continued on at UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospital to complete his residency and became board certified in Internal Medicine in 2009. Dr. Tran then served as an Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern until 2014.
Dr. Tran has practiced medicine in North Texas for over 10 years; he joined Addison Internal Medicine as an internal medicine specialist in 2016. The main focus of his practice is in delivering compassionate patient care with an emphasis on preventative medicine to lessen the impact of chronic disease states.
Dr. Tran provides care for a wide range of medical conditions including:
- Preventative care and wellness
- High blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease
- Acute illness and urgent care needs
- Weight management
- Men's health and hormone treatment
In his free time, Dr. Tran enjoys cooking and is an avid outdoors-man. He shares these passions with his wife and two young children.
