About Dr. Pichamol Jirapinyo

Dr. Jirapinyo is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an internationally recognized thought leader in the medical and endoscopic treatment of obesity and fatty liver disease. She pioneered combination therapy using minimally invasive endoscopic procedures alongside medications to optimize weight loss and improve outcomes for fatty liver disease. Dr. Jirapinyo earned her Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, and pursued fellowships in Gastroenterology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and in Bariatric and Advanced Endoscopy at Harvard Medical School. She is one of the few physicians who have completed formal fellowship training in bariatric endoscopy, obesity medicine, and interventional endoscopy. In 2017, she was board-certified in obesity medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and became one of the first gastroenterologists in the country to be triple-boarded. She currently serves as the Director of the Bariatric Endoscopy Fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.
