Getting to know Popoca Logue

A graduate of the University of San Diego, I earned a Masters of Science in Nursing with specialty as a Family Nurse Practitioner (2001). I’ve worked in Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Reproductive Health, and Correctional Health. Over the years, I realized that many physical complaints my patients voiced were rooted in emotional/mental health problems. It’s not easy to separate the Mind-Body connection! In order to better serve my patients, I returned to Graduate School to further my training, and earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health NP (2015) from Brandman University in Irvine, CA (now UMass Global). I’ve come to love challenging or difficult-to-treat cases, whether treatment-resistant depression; bipolar/mood disorders; schizoaffective disorder/schizophrenia; anxiety disorders; addictions; insomnia; autism/developmental disorders; ADHD/ADD; eating disorders… if you’re not sure what troubles you, schedule a psychiatric assessment and we will discuss your case. Treating adults ONLY ages 18-99 years old!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Psychiatric Assessments (Medication Evaluation) are typically 60 min and follow up appointments are 30 minutes--unless otherwise discussed. I am a firm believer that patients are the experts in their own cases. It is important to involve family & significant others (as needed); however, the patient is ultimately the decision-maker. I’d like to consider your preferences, your goals & desires when formulating your plan of care. ASK QUESTIONS: a well-informed patient often makes better decisions. Don’t hesitate to ask! Reasonable requests will be entertained.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
