Rachel Childs, APRN, RN, NP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
WA
I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in the State of Washington (WA state license number: AP60919642). With graduate degrees in social work, bioethics, and advanced psychiatric nursing, I have training in a variety of mental health settings and take an eclectic mental healthcare approach, emphasizing a biopsychosocial approach. I provide diagnostic evaluation and, where appropriate, treatment of symptoms related to mild to moderate low mood and depression, anxiety and stress, body image distress and eating disorders, as well as PTSD and trauma. I take a patient-centered, biopsychosocial approach to care, working collaboratively with you to identify the stressors impacting your well-being and relationships. Together, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan, which may include medication management, lifestyle changes, supportive counseling, pharmacogenetic testing, or referrals to a higher level of care as needed. Our ongoing work will focus on setting and tracking goals to restore balance, overcome obstacles, and support your continued growth. My approach is well-suited for teens, young adults, and adults who value a thorough diagnostic evaluation and are open to active participation in treatment, including collaboration around adjunctive support such as psychotherapy or nutrition services. As an outpatient telehealth provider, the scope of services I offer is limited. If you ever have questions about whether this level or style of care is right for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’ll discuss your concerns together to ensure you feel supported. Feeling authentically seen and heard is imperative, and in my practice, I value open, honest communication. I hope to create an environment where you feel comfortable sharing your story and current challenges, as well as your strengths and future goals.
