Rachel Coulter, APRN, RN, NP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
VA
I treat a range of mental health issues, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood concerns, BPD, and challenges related to school, work, or family. My goal is to help you build confidence, regulate emotions, and improve your mental health for a calmer, more fulfilling life. I believe the most effective treatment comes from a collaborative approach, where we work together to create a plan that supports meaningful progress toward your mental health goals. I work with individuals ranging from ages 5 to 65, with extensive training and experience in supporting children, teens, and young adults. My areas of specialization include the treatment and management of depression, anxiety disorders, and ADHD. My communication style is energetic, enthusiastic, and warm. I strive to create an encouraging environment where my patients feel supported and motivated to make progress. I focus on building a positive, open atmosphere where individuals feel comfortable sharing and working through challenges. Working with me feels like a collaborative partnership, where we celebrate successes, no matter how small, and stay focused on moving forward with optimism and confidence. My journey to becoming a mental healthcare provider began with a desire to understand human behavior. I have an extensive educational background in psychology, which has provided me with a strong foundation in the field. Initially, I worked as an acute care nurse, and that experience gave me invaluable insight into the complexities of mental health and the importance of compassionate care. What attracted me to mental healthcare was the opportunity to help others navigate their challenges, find hope, and develop the tools they need to thrive. What drives me is witnessing my patients' growth and progress, knowing I can be part of their journey toward healing and empowerment.
