Dietitian
WV
Provider is not licensed in the state of Indiana, Pennsylvania,New York,Vermont,Massachusetts,Texas,Connecticut,Washington,,Oklahoma,,HawaiI,Oregon. Credentials and Professional Journey Hello! I am a state board certified dietitian, a credential I've proudly held since 2016. My academic journey began with a Bachelor's in Science in Nutrition from NSU, followed by a Dietetics internship at Southern Universities. Expanding my expertise, I pursued more education in Functional Medicine, through the IFNCP credential training, focusing on understanding the root causes of diseases and their connections to nutrition, lifestyle habits, and environmental factors. My specialization lies in gastrointestinal health, auto-immune diseases, and sports nutrition. My experience spans from working at Baton Rouge General Medical Center's outpatient center with diverse patient groups, including athletes and diabetic patients, to owning Beach Hippie Nutritionist in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Navarre, FL. Personal Journey and Athletic Background Athletics has been a significant part of my life. As a former track athlete, specifically a 100m and 300m hurdler in high school and college, I've always found a deep connection with fitness and wellbeing. Unfortunately, injuries led me to shift my focus from track and field to bodybuilding. For six years, I immersed myself in the discipline, competing in the NPC as a bikini and figure competitor. This personal journey through athletics and injury recovery fueled my passion for sports nutrition and understanding the intricate balance of nutrition for maximum energy and rehabilitation. My Approach and Philosophy My approach as a dietitian is holistic and patient-centric. I believe in delving into the intricate details of each patient's lifestyle and health history to uncover the underlying causes of their health issues
