About Dr. Rajeev Pandarinath

Dr. Pandarinath specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He has been practicing in the DC Metro area since 2010 and has been voted a Washingtonian Top Doctor by his peers. He is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, with a Subspeciality Certification in Sports Medicine. He started his practice at George Washington University, where he was an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Director of Sports Medicine, as well as Head Orthopedic Surgeon for the George Washington University Colonials and University of the District of Columbia Firebirds as well as a Team Physician for the DC Furies (women’s rugby). Dr. Pandarinath’s approach is to focus on each patient as an individual, assess their unique issues and goals, and come up with a customized plan to return them to their desired activities. He works in collaboration with a team of physical therapists, nurses, and athletic trainers, and believes in a multidisciplinary approach to treating patients. He takes care of a variety of problems, including shoulder (rotator cuff disorders, instability, arthritis, clavicle fractures, shoulder separations), hips (stress fractures, hip impingement), knees (ligament injuries, patellar instability, ACL/PCL/MCL/LCL tears, cartilage restoration, complex knee surgery), and ankles (Achilles ruptures, ankle sprains). He also does general orthopedic care as well as fracture care. Dr. Pandarinath is a native of North Carolina, and attended Duke University for his undergraduate education, followed by medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his orthopedic residency at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and did a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, where he worked with athletes at all levels, including professional (Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, 76ers, Phillies) and collegiate (St. Joseph’s University).
