About Dr. Riana Sanyal
Dr. Riana Sanyal graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Brown University. She was awarded the Klingenstein National Merit Scholarship to attend the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, where she completed a dual MD/MS in Clinical Research. During medical school, she performed translational research at the Laboratory of Inflammatory Skin Diseases at Mount Sinai and presented her work on atopic dermatitis and alopecia at national and international meetings.
She moved to California to complete her dermatology residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, where she served as Chief resident. During residency, Dr. Sanyal contributed to the American Academy of Dermatology podcast Dialogues in Dermatology by writing commentaries on the latest developments in the field. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, and textbook chapters on a variety of topics including cutaneous immunology, dermatopathology, and biologic therapies. In addition to medical dermatology, Dr. Sanyal has pursued an interest in the aesthetic and procedural aspects of the field. She was recognized by the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery with the prestigious Women in Energy Based Devices Early Career Award, highlighting her research in this area.
Dr. Sanyal values the importance of providing comprehensive care to her patients, encompassing medical, surgical, and cosmetic aspects of dermatology. She strives to help her patients feel and look their best by offering treatments that are up-to-date and tailored to the individual.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring hiking trails and visiting dog-friendly beaches with her family and friends.

I didn’t see the provider, I saw some dude in scrubs. No explanation on who he was or Why he was there and the Dr. wasn’t.
This place is a glorified MedSpa and try to hard sell you on cosmetic procedures. I’ll stay ugly. Thanks.

I did not see the Dr. I saw the assistant. She prescribed two medications that the pharmacy asked the Dr office for alternative medications. The Dr office never responded to the pharmacy or to me. I was hoping to start medications that day, but no prescriptions were filled due to the Dr office not responding. I will not go back.

Dr. Sanyal was so kind and really listened to my concerns. I have been so insecure about my skin and she really made me feel heard. I would highly recommend her as a doctor!

The front desk lady kept me waiting for one hour to tell me that they don’t accept my insurance, and when I called my insurance and they talk to her they accepted it, so I think she didn’t know what she was doing or she didn’t bother to check with the insurance herself, in any way I was waiting for more than an hour.

Dr. Sanyal was very nice and professional however I came in to get Milia extracted on my face and ask questions about my Post Partum skin. And I was told by the nurse that I could only remove 5-7 milia and that I could only ask 3 questions.
The whole appointment seemed rushed and I only ended up getting 5 milia removed of the only 8 I had in total. I also had to prioritize which ones bothered me the most, so I had to pick which ones to tackle, rather than eliminating the problem. Which I found completely absurd.
No where in my appointment was time specified on how long I had to consult with the doctor but I did not feel like I was asking ridiculous questions.
After being rushed out and only doing the Minimal amount of work there is no way I would feel comfortable doing a procedure with this office.
The kicker was when I went to my regular facial 2 days later at a different location I was told that the milia was not correctly extracted and so she finish the job.

I had a great visit! Dr. Sanyal, she was very thorough and explained the treatments that I needed well. I got laser for my face, and also Botox for my forehead. I really liked that she not try to give me too many treatments. I felt very comfortable with her, and she was really nice. I will definitely be back to continue.
