About Dr. Richard Mendelsohn
Dr. Richard Mendelsohn enjoys working with patients of all ages on a multitude of foot and ankle ailments. Widely recognized as a specialist in the treatment of sports and dance injuries, he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University and completed his residency at The Cambridge Hospital, affiliated with Harvard University. He also holds a bachelor's degree from Emory University. Dr. Mendelsohn is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American Society of Podiatric Dermatology and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Frequently consulted by other physicians for his expertise in sports- and dance-related injuries, Dr. Mendelsohn is actively involved with the American College of Podiatric Sports Medicine. The dr was ok. He seemed very busy and didn’t spend much time with me. He’d come in for a few seconds , talk with me then leave again… I didn’t feel like I was valued I really felt like an appointment on Zoc doc! If I was a regular patient I might have received better care.

I scheduled an appointment prior to the appointment I made an account to where they sent verification code to my phone and sent me an email reminder about my appointment I did the pre check for my appointment and on my appointment day no call. So when i contacted the office they said they cancelled it because i was a new patient and called me twice and i informed them i don’t have any missed calls nor voicemails emails or text about this matter and they had all my information. I’m just glad it wasn’t serious enough that i needed to be seen and I depended on them

I had very specific symptoms that lead directly to a diagnosis, confirmed by evaluation and imaging. From that there was a pretty specific treatment approach which we agree to pursue. So no drama on the medical side and I otherwise enjoyed our other conversation during the visit. All-in-all a great experience, I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Mendelsohn.

I started seeing Dr. Mendelsohn years ago when I was researching podiatrists to correct a problem after a surgery that did not go very well. I came to him this time for a broken toe. As always, Dr. Mendelsohn was not one to waste time. He’s not going to hang around and have small talk, but he is always professional, he knows what he is talking about, and he will get you up and going in no time. His team is also professional and kind. They take care to treat people respectfully and the office is clean and observant of safe practices and CDC-recommended measures during this pandemic. I would definitely recommend this doctor and this practice.

Dr Mendelsohn was great! His office staff was not... I had the same problem others had, the zocdoc apointment didn't come through their system, so obviously that's a big problem! The women at the front desk just seemed bothered by checking me in, or answering questions, really anything... I'll be booking my followup appt at another office. I was at the Fairfax location.

The office had no idea I had an appointment, eventhough it was confirmed via ZocDoc. They couldnt find their ZocDoc password and I had to fill out the paperwork again, despite having completed online checkin. The doctor was good once I was finally seen, but the administrative issue was frustrating.

Also, the receptionist is nice and professional, I wish I could remember the name of the nurse who checked me in as she was one of the nicest individuals when it comes to checking in a new patient; professional, most pleasant and knowledgable.

I did not appreciate this doctors lack of focus while removing a wart on my feet. He went away for almost 15 minutes after giving me a local anesthetic. He came back and started working on it as the effects were wearing off. He did not do anything to address the pain I kept telling him about during the procedure. Overall it was a horrible experience!

Awful. Was kept waiting for an hour and a half as the zoc doc schedule had not synced with the main schedule. Infuriating and though the receptionist was very nice and apologetic the doctor was curt, borderline rude and had the attitude of 'get over it'. He had a conference call he had scheduled. Well so did I! He took his but I had to miss mine. I should have walked out but had driven for half an hour to get there.

Dr. Mendelsohn operated on my foot last November. In addition to his esteemed professional reputation, we found him to be very personable, caring, and unassuming - quite a rare quality for such a reputable professional!
These qualities trump the few administrative hiccups , especially since Dr. Mendelsohn personally intervened to resolve them to our complete satisfaction.
We highly recommend his service!
