About Dr. Robert Katz
Robert S. Katz, MD, is a leading expert in rheumatology with extensive experience in both research and patient care. He treats patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other related disorders.
Dr. Katz earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Washington University, St. Louis, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Rheumatology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
He is a professor of medicine at Rush University in Chicago, where he is actively involved in teaching. Additionally, he serves as an associate professor at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Exceptional experience. Parking was easy. Staff is amazing. Can’t say enough about how friendly and kind they were. I was seen by the nurse, doctor and phlebotomist before I could finish my new patient paperwork. Not that I was shuffled through quickly. The doctor was so caring and I truly felt listened to. I feel very optimistic about my future experience with this doctor and practice. Rare to find these days

Dr. Katz and his entire staff are absolutely amazing! I was absolutely dumbfounded I was able to get an appointment with him so quickly. I would emphatically and extremely strongly recommend him without any caveats. They were all extremely diligent in gathering history, collecting records, etc. Not only is his practice excellent, he has a wonderful bedside humor and a charming and great sense of humor. I hope he never retires!

Dr Katz took a data- oriented approach to address my concerns and was willing to start a treatment regimen right away. He directed me for x-rays, took some blood and suggested I return in 3-4 weeks to report in Rx trial and so that he can share impressions from lab and imaging results.

I live in Atlanta, GA. I came to Dr. Katz in Chicago because he previously diagnosed my sister in-law after doctors didn’t diagnose her correctly. After the first visit and some tests, Dr. Katz came to a diagnosis for my my son and we are continuously working on what else is wrong with him. This is even after going to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL and they couldn’t figure this out. I am e extremely happy with the service Dr. Katz has given!

I was extremely happy with my appointment with Dr. Small. He was attentive, knowledgeable and kind. He's a great listener, he respected my hypothesis about my injury and he included my input when coming up with the best medication strategy for me. I'm super sensitive to meds, so he honored my request to start low on the steroid and reevaluate after a week.
He was patient and not rushed on my follow up phone call today. I feel confident and lucky that I chose Dr. Small for this unusual injury.
I also had a wonderful interaction with the Anna when deciding last minute about coming to this office. Her friendliness and personable vibe made me comfortable.
The nurse who brought me in was comforting and empathetic.
Finally, I was pleasantly surprised to have such a fun conversation with Lola as she was drawing me blood.
Overall it was a great experience! No one wants to have to go to the doctor for an injury, but this experience was uplifting and set me at ease.

Dr. Katz has a lot of experience so I trusted his evaluation of the symptoms that I presented. He ordered a test just to be sure and I appreciated that he was not dismissive about my symptoms even though they may have been minor in relation to what he typically sees.

1st visit went well. My 2nd visit did not. I was supposed to have x-rays done & he didn’t do them & my labs were not explained to me. I was told no major organ failure. I was told multiple times he was triple booked & only had 2 nurses today (7/8) He should book less patients, especially when short staffed so he can actually treat them & spend more than 3 minutes in the room. Very disappointed with my 2nd visit on 7/8/21.

My incredible experience with this practice started out with Dr Katz,s personal secretary calling me to schedule an appointment. She was the kindest secretary I have ever spoken to and was ready to help me any way she could. The staff at the office was very welcoming and kind. The nurses were gentle and caring.
Dr Robert Katz was an honor to meet. He is a very humble and caring physician. He took the time to listen to everything I had to say. He examined me thoroughly and made sure I did not leave his office without addressing all of my concerns. I would recommend Dr. Katz and his team to everyone I know.

The best medical experience I’ve ever had. Everyone (front office, nurse, lab, radiology and doctor) was beyond friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I’ve never felt so welcomed in a doctors office. Dr. Katz showed great passion to find the root cause rather than just dismissing me or throwing pills at me. I’m so thankful to have found this place and find the answers I’m looking for.

Dr. Katz was such a breath of fresh air! Wonderful experience. I’ve seen multiple MD’s the past few months and Dr. Katz was hands down the most professional, helpful and comforting specialist I’ve ever been to. The entire staff was so friendly and efficient. Although I will not likely need to see Dr. Katz regularly, I would definitely recommend him to all my friends and family!
