About Robert Paul Johnson
Rob Johnson, L.Ac., owned and operated a successful acupuncture practice on 5th Avenue in Manhattan with 100 five star reviews for six years, and taught at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (“PCOM”) as a Clinical Supervisor and Adjunct Instructor before joining North Nassau Acupuncture. At PCOM Rob supervised students in the largest acupuncture clinic in the United States outside of California, and he also supervised offsite internships at BronxCare Health System in Family Medicine and Hematology and Oncology.
Rob’s post-graduate training has included such studies as: Xing Nao Kai Qiao (“XNKQ”) post-stroke recovery acupuncture from Dr. Atsuki Maeda, Morita Trigger Point Therapy from Dr. Yosiyuki Morita, and courses in Acupuncture in an Oncology setting from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He has an MSAc from PCOM, a JD from Cardozo School of Law, and a BA from Wake Forest University.
Rob’s interest in Chinese Medicine stems from his interest in martial arts and qi gong. He has studied martial arts and qi gong for over 30 years, including over 20 years from Ken Lo, the 7th Grandmaster of Wu Mei Pai Kung Fu. Additionally Rob has studied meditation from many esteemed Tibetan masters.
Rob decided to become an acupuncturist after acupuncture freed him from chronic migraines. Naturally, migraines and neurological conditions are an area of strength for Rob as a practitioner. Additionally, he has years of experience treating athletes such as Broadway performers, professional dancers, and football players. Moreover, he has assisted many couples or individuals in their journey towards pregnancy and parenthood.
Rob excels at the use of Electrical Stimulation (“E-Stim”) in the form of micro-current. He studied from and practiced for a year with Dr. Jeremy Pulsifer, a noted E-Stim teacher and practitioner. Rob also uses the Dr. Wang Ju-Yi channel palpation diagnostic technique that he learned from Yefim Gamgoneishvili, a disciple of the late Dr. Wang. Additionally, Rob had the good fortune to spend a year under the since-retired tongue and pulse master Dr. Roger Tsao. Moreover, he learned how to diagnose and treat complex conditions with the Stems and Branches from Dr. Sharon Zhao.

Mr. Johnson was extremely nice and easy to talk to! I had initially gone in just to receive cupping therapy, but he offered to do some acupuncture as well. I’m so happy I accepted because I left my appointment feeling the best I have physically in several months. I also appreciated how much he communicated with me during my appointment, making sure I was as comfortable and needed more/less of anything. A lot of places will make you feel rushed or constrained to an allotted time. I’ll definitely be back to see him again and I would highly recommend seeing him for any ailments you might be experiencing, both physical and psychological. I already referred a couple of loved ones who I believe would really benefit from seeing him too!

I always leave my appointments with Robert feeling relaxed and refreshed. I have seen Robert for a couple of years now and have come to him with numerous health problems and he always has managed to help with whatever ailment I am struggling with, wether it be physical discomfort or mental stress. I cannot recommend his practice highly enough.

After reading that Acupuncture could help with endometriosis pain, a friend recommended Robert. During the first appointment, he began searching to learn more about my condition. That was how committed he was to help me. He has a wonderful manner, wishing to treat whatever might be in
your way that day. At one appointment, he sensed my grumpiness (Work was getting me down), and he addressed that with a few needles, I felt worlds differently. At nearly two years, I am pain-free, and I credit Roberts with that transformation, and the awareness in myself he has fostered.
I continue to suggest to friends having any issue, they trying Acupuncture. As I believe Robert can help with any ailment, from depression to poor sleep, to a pain in my right rib, I couldn't even describe. He is a rare human, that will make eastern medicine and needles less scary.

I went to Robert for my first ever acupuncture appointment and although I was very nervous, Robert comforted me and assurred me that I would be okay. Needless to say, it was a great experience and I continued going to Robert from then. The space was very relaxing and inviting as well.
