Getting to know Dr. Robert Reff
I work with individual adult outpatients to treat anxiety disorders, depression, and other mood disorders, utilizing individual psychotherapy and medication management as appropriate.
Over more than two decades in practice, I have witnessed dramatic changes in psychiatry. We now have many medications that have significantly improved the quality of life and long-term functioning for numerous people. While some psychiatrists see patients only for brief medication management visits on an infrequent basis, this is not a treatment model I employ or am comfortable with.
I was trained in a strongly psychotherapeutically oriented program, completing my residency in psychiatry at Northwestern University, followed by a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at the same institution. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. I am also well versed and skilled in the complex practice of psychopharmacology. My approach is to individualize treatment plans based on each person's unique needs.
I am comfortable collaborating with psychotherapists and other treatment providers when appropriate. I also see patients for individual psychotherapy with or without the concomitant use of medications. My "pager" is my cell phone, which allows patients easy access to me in the event of any problem.

Initial session: $500 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $275-350 for 3045 minutes

I've been seeing Dr. Reff for over 10 yrs. He was recommended to me by my internist. She has retired now, unfortunately, but she always knew who to recommend--the BEST!
He's understanding and always greets me with a smile.
If I need to cancel an appt. at the last moment, because of illness--He doesn't charge me a late fee. I don't know if that's his policy with others, but I sure appreciate it.!

I am a new patient, but have had a relationship with a physician with Dr. Reff's specialty for over 50 years. My long-time physician passed away and I was referred to Dr. Reff by our internist from Northwestern.
