1. Behavioral Health has been my ONLY specialty since Day 1 in healthcare. I am not a "specialty switcher" that originally had no interest in mental health and used to work in a cardiac unit or in labor and delivery and out of a whim decided to switch to psychiatry for convenience or money. I worked in the psychiatric wards of five hospitals. Psych IS my passion. I used to teach Psych at the undergraduate / graduate levels at various universities including the University of Miami.
2. I take the time to LISTEN to you and do not jump to conclusions. I take a non-judgmental approach. Everyone has a past. Our session will feel more like a dialogue, not like a never-ending interrogation.
3. Not just medicine: I am a firm believer in a holistic and integrative treatment plan that incorporates various modalities including sleep hygiene, diet, physical fitness, and positive lifestyle choices.
4. In a non-rushed manner, I will try to answer all your questions and if I do not have an answer, I will make my best attempt to obtain an answer for you in a reasonable timeframe.
5. My self-pay rates are more affordable than most others: $190. / $95. (for the first three months). $125 thereafter.
6. If medication is prescribed, it will be done in a safe and conservative manner after providing proper education.
7. I firmly believe in patient empowerment.
You WILL have a say in your treatment plan - GUARANTEED!
8. NO WAIT LIST! I offer same or next business day appointments.
9. I understand you may have a busy schedule. We will meet periodically on a day / time that works for you. This includes morning, afternoon, or evening session.
10. I will provide you with my phone number. If you need to reach me, you will NOT have to leave a message at a busy office or with a medical receptionist and hope for a call back. This is especially helpful if your pharmacy does not have your medication.
