Getting to know Dr. Ronald Lee

PATIENTS SEEKING TREATMENT FOR ADHD: To be evaluated and treated by me for ADHD or for anything requiring a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Adderall, Ritalin, Vyvanse, etc.), YOU NEED EITHER ONE OF TWO THINGS AT OUR FIRST APPOINTMENT: 1. A neuropsychological evaluation by a Board Certified Neuropsychologist, with THOROUGH (you sat in a room for 3-6 hours taking tests) reports detailing your diagnosis and scaling of ADD/ADHD from THE LAST 10 YEARS (from date of report). 2. A note from a RECENT PRESCRIBER (MD/DO; if NP, co-signed by the MD/DO supervising them)-RECENT meaning WITHIN THE PAST 6 MONTHS-stating that they have DIAGNOSED and TREATED you for ADD/ADHD from (date–date). If you don't have EITHER #1 or #2 and you STILL book an appointment seeking ADD/ADHD evaluation or treatment, your appointment will be automatically cancelled unless you speak with me within 24 hours to get connected with a neuropsychology appointment ASAP BEFORE SEEING ME! It is harder and harder to imagine darker times than of late, but as the night is often darkness just before dawn, it is likewise never too late… for you to take the first steps in your recovery. I'd like to join you, if you'll allow me. Though I am out of network, I have been told by previous patients with PPO insurances that my fees are in line with what they would pay out of pocket for an in-network provider. You absolutely should, though, check with your insurance directly. Please note I cannot take ANY patients on Medicare, Medicaid, MassHealth, or ANY government-sponsored health insurance, even if willing to pay privately-sorry! If you're tired of what you have found out there, I'd simply ask you at this point… what do you feel you have to lose by giving me a try? I am a graduate of Drexel University, Doctor of Medicine.

What should a new client know about working with you?

That you would be walking into a virtual environment, free of judgment and/or reproach, to speak to the doctor how about precisely what troubles you--untethered by the fears that often keep us silent, often leaving us to grudgingly continue, barely content to live lives of quiet desperation. Do you spent far too long pondering the road not traveled? Regret is one of the most difficult emotions to process, but only if you allow it to consume you. Did you know anxiety and excitement are physiologically identical bodily responses, separated only by our perception and subjective sense of how we are handling external stimuli? Even in a field of "Special" Doctors, I still pride myself on marching to the beat of my own drum--as long as it is in the patient's best interest. Sometimes that might not be pleasant: I have been described as "blunt," and I will say that seems to serve me on his many days as it burns me, but honestly it's not a box left unchecked from my end. If you need to be told some thing isn't working, the last thing you will be buying from my services is silence or complacence, allowing that to continue. know thyself!!! The only thing you need to bring with you to an appointment with me, to drive successful treatment, is a desire and willingness to change the trajectory of your life, coupled by your willingness to provide rigorous honesty, to myself, and more importantly, to yourself. For while deception might be successful on others, moral boundaries notwithstanding, it is NEVER fully successful on oneself--because even if you convince part of yourself into thinking you are"Doing OK," you will be left with this niggling and un-scratchible itch, the voice of your better angels, telling you that you can do better and should be striving for such. How many more excuses can you give yourself to not even try? None of us is guaranteed tomorrow. How much longer are you willing to fool yourself, on this very page, that you couldn't use my help?

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The entire first session, and sometimes a portion of the second, it's mostly gathering and reviewing your own history, medical and psychiatric specifically. If you are looking for a conventional/traditional "stoic" psychiatrist that would've been on television 20-30 years ago, kindly look elsewhere. What I seek is a human connection, often overlooked, that is crucial to developing a therapeutic alliance with a patient who is trusting me with their life, as well as most inner, scary, sometimes darkest thoughts. It is not something I take lightly, while simultaneously attempting penetrate that darkness with a touch of levity and humor, lightening the mood by showing that if the doctor does not take himself too seriously, you can start to relax before getting into the "heavy" stuff at the crux of your problem. I'll joke! I'll laugh! But I will also listen. I am judiciously humorous while deathly serious when appropriate. I will also tell you exactly but I believe you need to hear, in order to better your life. If you are looking for a standard prescription writing robot who spends less than 5–10 minutes with you, only to disappear faster than you can say "what's my diagnosis again," I'm proud to tell you that you have come to the wrong place, very much to your benefit. PLEASE Google "Ronald Lee Foxboro" and click the phone # shown for a free 10 minute consultation BEFORE booking the appointment, and talk to me about why you seek help, so that I can give you an honest opinion on my ability to do so: because I will also be the first to admit I do not have all the answers: as much as I can take your money to tell you that in a paid session, wasting your time in the process, I'd rather save you both, because I am that confident someone else can use my help. If someone from the office cannot reach you within 24 hours of you booking an appointment with me, it will be cancelled for that reason. So let's talk first! Hope to hear from you!
