About Dr. Ronald (Ron) Berne
With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Berne began his dermatology career by earning his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and both his Masters and Bachelors degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Drawn to dermatology due to its expansive variety, and link to overall health and challenging nature, he received his formal dermatology training at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and completed his internal medicine internship at Rush University Hospital. Backed by the American Board of Dermatology, he began private practice in 1994. In addition to the American Academy of Dermatology, Berne is also a member of the Geriatric Dermatology Expert Resource Group, the American Geriatric Society and the Skin of Color Society.
Dr. Berne specializes in geriatric dermatology, but sees patients from the age of eighteen and older. While away from the office, Dr. Berne enjoys a variety of hobbies including hiking, great BBQ, crossword puzzles, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs. He enjoys spending time with his wife, and their two grown daughters.
