About Dr. Roopam Shyam
Dr. Roopam Shyam is a family practice and urgent care expert with more than 10 years of experience helping patients with a wide range of outpatient care needs, including wellness visits, chronic medical condition management, weight loss and weight management, hormone treatment (Biote), outpatient procedural skills, occupational medicine, worker’s compensation care, and travel medicine. She is board-certified through the American Board of Family Practice and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu, Dr. Shyam brings extensive experience and a passion for medicine.

Dr. Shyam completed her medical school education at Gajra Raja Medical College in Gwalior, M.P., India, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree. While in medical school, she was named a Merit Scholar Student. She completed her residency in family medicine at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana, and at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She has served in various leadership positions, including Medical Director at J.C. Penney Corporate Clinic and Regional Medical Director.
With the field of medicine always evolving, Dr. Shyam is dedicated to improving healthcare delivery to serve North Texas communities in a superior and effective manner. With expertise in urgent care and primary care, she believes in a patient-centric approach that allows treatment to be optimized on an individual basis while positively impacting her patients’ lives.

The wait was long 1:30 to be specific after been checked in . Had waited 30 after taking covid specimen. Found I had covid but all vital were not done they didn’t take my oxygen level which ended up dropping .
In the good side you can access your portfolio in your phone .

We travel from Savannah Georgia to Allen Texas to visit our daughter family.After two weeks, we had a bad cold or some kind of allergy and very bad cough.I searched online and foud Zocdod and this doctor office with available appointment , so I book appointments for my wife and myself.
The office staff is friendly,helped us get through what needed before seeing the doctor.
After asking our past symptoms, we have prescriptions sent to the pharmacy we choose,the only cough medicine not ready until next day.
Anyway,we are impressed with this Vitals Family Medicine.I would recommend to anyone who needs immediate health care.

Dr Shyam if fantastic. Both of my kids have seen her and we liked her from the start. I love that she talks to them directly and not just to me like they aren’t there. Recently my son had a more major medical issue and Dr Shyam went above and beyond getting him to the right Drs to treat him. You will be very pleased with her.

At MD Shyam Roopam's office, making an appointment, getting seen, treated and back on your way, is eaiser/quicker than walking up 10 stairs. That was important to me alone. But once meeting Dr. Roopam, she became the most stress free, helpful, understanding, friendliest Doctor I think Ive ever had. And Ive had tons since my early, esrly years simce my diagnosis of adhd/add. Ive been dreading getting back on treatment since I had my baby bc its hectic for me to actually leave my house amd talking over the phone. But Dr Roopam made it all simple and in an instant. Dont have insurance.?Pay out of pocket. Need same or next day? Zocdoc or call her office. AND because I had my baby and no help, she even helped me out during my EKG and kept an eye out until done. She is what the doctor world needs more of. Thank You!!!
