Life challenges all of us. Sometimes we need a little help managing obstacles and transitions. And asking for help is one of the hardest things we can do! Know this: You are not alone! About 1 in 5 adults in Illinois experience a mental health condition each year with 38.5% reporting depression or anxiety in 2021. My mission is to give you tools to move forward through life transitions and around the obstacles standing in the way of you being the best and happiest you! If medication is appropriate, we will discuss risks, benefits and alternatives during our meeting. Current evidence-based best practices do support better outcomes when therapy is utilized concurrently. Therapies I subscribe to focus on the present, the realities of life, the strength of hope and the power of moving forward. My experience as a Nurse Practitioner began in 1997 with Cook County Health Services at The CORE Center. Since then I’ve worked with people suffering the range of mental conditions from work burnout to paranoid schizophrenia. My hope is to reduce any suffering and help you live the life you choose! Trauma comes in many forms. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can impact how a person processes traumatic events. Members of military, police, nursing and medical communities are exposed to, but not immune to, traumatic events. I am here to support you through challenging times. As a military spouse I've felt the challenges of military conflict and the challenges of transitioning through the ranks. There are so many transitions associated with the armed forces that my family has been involved with, including retirement. After taking time to be a full-time caregiver, I also understand the unique stressors that come with that responsibility.
