Getting to know Dr. Ruth Rayikanti

I am a San Francisco native with a strong academic background, holding dual undergraduate degrees in Biological Sciences and African and African American Studies from U.C. Davis. I furthered my education with a Medical Degree from Ross University and completed a Psychiatry residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with additional training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente-Fontana Medical Center. Throughout my career, I have immersed myself in clinical practice, research, therapy, and community initiatives across various mental health care domains. My dedication has been recognized with awards for Excellence in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry and Best Clinical Case Presentation among General Psychiatry Residents. My clinical focus includes medication management, psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness interventions, and collaborative care, particularly for adults with ADHD. As an ADHD specialist, I find great fulfillment in guiding patients through challenges and empowering them to reach their full potential. Additionally, I founded A Blank Canvas, a wellness platform advocating mindfulness and relaxation techniques, which has been featured at various conferences nationwide such as Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD). Given my background and commitment to providing personalized, evidence-based psychiatric care, I am confident in the value I bring my patients. I look forward to connecting with you!

When I began working with Dr. Rayikanti it was immediately apparent that she was invested in helping me. Dr. Rayikanti took time to understand who I was and how my environment affected my mental state. She took a holistic approach to help me with navigating my concerns, including exercise, medication, and meditation. Together we worked on finding the right balance of medication and coping skills.
I didn't know much about ADHD until in my 30s when I found myself struggling with work/life tasks that require strong and sustained focus. I'm so glad I met Dr. Ruth! Through working with Dr. Ruth I gained deeper knowledge on adult ADHD, and even connected some dots of my childhood/early adult experiences that may be related. My ability to focus has improved quite a lot. It helped me get through a very demanding period at work. I feel much more confident and well equipped to tackle new challenges. Dr. Ruth has a very thoughtful and comprehensive approach to evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. I received various computer based, blood/genetics testings. When it comes to treatments, Dr Ruth does a great job of finding the best choice/dosage while always respecting my preferences and addressing any concerns. So if you're an adult struggling with ADHD I highly recommend Dr. Ruth as an excellent guide on your journey to healing and improvements!
