Hello, I am Ruth Rafacz a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have been practicing since 2010. I believe in working together with my patient. My patients are active participants in their care. working with the patient to find the right medicine and theoretical approach that is tailor made for each patient. There is no one size fits all in mental healthcare. My focus area of Patrice is varied I addresses a breadth of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, integrating the science of psychology with the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of complicated human problems. I typically work with Depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar, schizophrenia, Delusion phobias personality disorders and dementia. I ask a lot of questions and engage the patient in conversation. I believe the patient knows themself best and probably has an idea as to what is going on and how they feel. sometimes I give homework and take patients practice at home techniques that are discussed in the office. I was attracted to psychiatry because I felt people needing mental healthcare were sometimes underserved and not listened to. Everyone has their own journey through life and Deseve to be heard. I would like the patient to be open minded and willing to try things if posable. It can be wrought to change old habits or believes that is way we must work together in finding solutions. The first session is always a time where the patient and I learn about each other and what is expected moving forward
