Dr. Saad Shakir is a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive experience in general and interventional psychiatry, psychopharmacology, integrated care, and innovative treatments for depression. Dr. Shakir is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (DLFAPA) and a co-founder of the Clinical TMS Society. In recognition of his contributions to the field of TMS, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship (FCTMSS) by the Clinical TMS Society in 2024. Trained in medicine, neurology, and psychiatry, Dr. Shakir earned his medical degree from Baghdad University School of Medicine, graduating near the top of his class. He later completed advanced psychiatric training at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York and Stanford University, where he completed his residency and served as Chief Resident. Throughout his career, Dr. Shakir has been a leader in expanding access to interventional psychiatric care. He founded Integrated Clinical Neurosciences, a multidisciplinary psychiatric practice that grew to six locations across the San Francisco Bay Area, and served as Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Silicon Valley TMS, helping expand TMS and SPRAVATO® treatment services across multiple locations. Dr. Shakir is passionate about providing personalized, evidence-based psychiatric care and helping patients access innovative treatment options when traditional approaches have not provided sufficient relief.
