Sanil Prakash, APRN, RN, NP

Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry)
FL
With a Florida license for 8 years and so how hard it is to get a Psychiatry appointment for my patients. That's why I haven't gone back to school and become a psychiatric practitioner to help their mental problems in a simple lifestyle. We gave more value to mental aspects, natural resources, family, elders, and community than the materialistic, luxury life approach. We welcomed anyone with an open heart and believed grew up happily sharing whatever little was left with everybody.. I was raised in an Indian culture where we believe in treating the patient as a whole, with mind and body connected for a better outcome. It is okay to feel stuck, tired, overwhelmed, and anxious, but the point is to pull through and not give up until you meet your treatment goal. There is no way of popping a magic pill and assuming all is done. It is okay to feel stuck, tired, overwhelmed, and anxious, but the point is to pull through and not give up until you meet your treatment goal. I expect my patients not to give up until the optimum results are achieved. If everyone realizes that their past experiences have no relation to the truth of a present event and that they do not have to think in the same way every time, they can change their thinking process. This can alter destructive thought and behavior patterns into a more helpful, healthy mindset. I work with anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, bipolar personality disorders, insomnia, ADHD, and a lot of other mental diseases. I believe in combined treatment with therapy and medication if needed. I do not believe that every patient needs lifetime medications. Same like building body muscles through disciplined and committed workouts, we need 100% commitment to follow mental exercises to strengthen our mental/emotional muscles to cure mental disorders.
