Dr. Liu is an honors graduate of Harvard University and the University of Puerto Rico and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society as a student. Subsequent to his internship at Hurley Medical Center at Michigan State University, Dr. Liu completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine in 1996. Dr. James Liu was an American Board Certified in Ophthalmology in 1998. He has been a member of the Academy of Ophthalmology since 1996 and a Fellow of the Academy since 1998. He continues to actively participate in numerous continuing education programs in ophthalmology and cosmetic surgery throughout the United States.
