About Dr. Scott Weiner
Scott Weiner, DO, is a member of Summit Health's Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology, New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury. Dr. Weiner completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Northwell Health, Plainview Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Orthopedic Shoulder and Elbow at Johns Hopkins University. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester.
Dr. Weiner is a fellowship-trained shoulder and elbow orthopedic surgeon with expertise in complex shoulder reconstruction and advanced arthroscopic procedures. While his primary focus is the upper extremity, he is also skilled in treating patients with general orthopedic concerns such as fracture care, sports-related injuries, and arthritic conditions.
His passion for treating the upper extremity stems from years of specialized training and research, including a traveling fellowship to train with leading European shoulder and elbow surgeons and a clinical research role at the Cleveland Clinic. He has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on shoulder and elbow disorders and has presented findings at national orthopedic meetings.
Dr. Weiner advocates for shared decision-making with his patients. His attention to each patient's needs, preferences, and lifestyle helps guide and optimize care. “In working with a patient, we are able to devise a treatment plan that will maximize recovery while minimizing inconvenience,” he says. The highlight of his work is helping patients recover from injury and return to their favorite activities.
In his free time, Dr. Weiner enjoys golfing and rooting for New York sports teams.

Absolutely professional, kind, personable and knowledgeable. Many times you book with new Drs not sure of what you’ll get so you learn to manage your expectations. I have to say that making this appointment with Dr Wiener was the best decision ever. I wish he was a all around Dr so I didn’t have to see anyone else for anything. “I’m being facetious”, I’m just trying to relay how great of a Dr he is. If you book with him you won’t be disappointed. From entry to exit just absolutely pleasant.

The RN who saw me before the doctor was super nice and the X ray Techs two big Guys were super nice. The doctor was cool, at first when he came in the room I honestly thought he was scared of me because he stood very far back, but once we started talking about the X-rays he really explained everything.
