About Dr. Seema Malani
Born and raised in central India, Seema Malani, M.D. began her journey in health care completing her graduate medical education at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College in Indore, India. Throughout medical school, she devoted her time to various volunteer activities including the National Pulse Polio Eradication Program, an immunization campaign focused on vaccinating all young children against the polio virus to help improve the lives of children and future generations to come.
Dr. Malani pursued her Internal Medicine training at the New York Downtown Hospital in New York. It was during the course of this training that she encountered patients with various autoimmune diseases that inspired her to pursue Rheumatology training at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Working at Kings County Medical Center, University Hospital, and VA Hospital, she gained experience in treating lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and other rheumatic diseases and was exposed to a diverse patient population.
Dr. Malani has participated in various clinical studies for lupus and has been published in The Journal of Rheumatology. She is experienced in performing a wide range of procedures including joint aspiration and injections.
Dr. Malani takes particular interest in treating patients with rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and osteoporosis. She is fascinated by the ongoing research and understanding of autoimmune diseases and the development of new modalities of treatment. She finds it rewarding to help patients overcome painful conditions and enjoys building long-term relations with her patients.

Dr. Malani was excellent. I have an autoimmune disease which really needs routine follow-up with a rheumatologist. My previous doctor was rude and inconsiderate. Because of that I stopped going to her. My heath had gotten to the point where I was needing to find a new Rheumatologist. I found Dr. Malani here on ZocDoc and she was so much more personable than my previous doctor. She listened to what I had to say and didn't dismiss my concerns. I will definitely keep my follow up appointments with her.

I've only seen dr.malani once so far but I absolutely love her she is so nice. She listened to me & believed me instead of brushing me off like all the rest of doctors. She even included me in the diagnoses process because I told her I thought I had lupus and she said she didn't think I did but she was going to run the lupus test on me since that was my prime concern. It felt so good to finally have a doctor listen to me I'm so hopeful she is going to figure out because she straight up told me I'm going to diagnose you and treat you! That meant the world to me because all my other doctors told me well run some tests. They didn't care about my well being. Also dr.malani saw I was diagnosed with fibromayalgia and asked of I had received treatment for it, my mouth about fell open and hit the floor because no doctor ever treats fibromayalgia! I'm very hopeful and happy with Dr malani! She order and mri of my si joints & ordered 13 different blood tests, so 6 or 7 tubes out of blood out my arm and u feel so relieved because a doctor is actually trying to figure out what's wrong! A huge weight feels like it has been lifted off my sholders! Thank you such dr.malani! I'll bee leaving another review after my second visit!
