My focus I have experience treating patients with anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder, and many other diagnoses. I enjoy working with people who are seeking help for a wide range of symptoms. My approach I believe that people seeking mental healthcare deserve my compassion, respect, attention, and commitment to their treatment. I often use concepts from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy when working with clients. My communication style I try to create an environment of emotional safety, trust, and comfort so that clients feel able to openly express themselves and their needs. I want patients to be active participants in their own care. I find this allows for the best treatment outcomes. My journey to mental healthcare My interest in psychiatry began throughout my initial undergraduate work in psychology and has grown from my specialization in psychiatry as a nurse practitioner. I love helping people identify and meet their mental health needs. My goals for you I use motivational interviewing techniques to help clients understand their goals and motivations to achieve them. I view goal setting as a collaborative practice between provider and patient. Our first session During your first session, we will review your psychiatric, medical, and social history. I will provide my diagnostic impression and we will negotiate a treatment plan that is mutually agreed upon.
