About Dr. Sergio Sokol
Dr. Sergio Sokol is a Board Certified Cardiologist with over 20 years of experience as a specialist. Among his many roles, Dr. Sokol is currently the Chief of Cardiology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital. With his breadth of knowledge and diagnostic expertise, he has consulted for hundreds of doctors along the East Coast.
Dr. Sokol received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Jacobi Hospital Center and his Fellowship in Cardiology at North Shore University Hospital. He holds a New York State Medical License and is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Sokol has been ranked among Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors for four consecutive years (’08–’12). Notably, he holds certifications from ABIM in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, ICAEL in Echocardiography, ICAVL in Vascular Testing, and ACR in Nuclear Lab Testing.

I'm not sure why this practice has such good reviews. One of the receptionists were rude, did not know what zocdoc was and had an attitude that I made an appointment via zocdoc. The echo tech and ekg tech were both unprofessional. Did not introduce themselves by name, did not inform me or ask for consent for tests about to be performed . They both told me to remove my clothing (top and bra) and put on gown while remaining in room. Very awkward. Then when I was seen by the doctor and a woman, who again, doesn't identify herself starts to grab my arm as the doctor is speaking to me(to take my blood pressure) my elbow on the arm she is grabbing is fractured. At no time was a medical history taken. Dr Sokol says "God has blessed me with this disease " and I should go to the gym because my heart is fine. I should find a gym with a hot tub and go on the elliptical. Wow. This was one for the books. Unbelievable. I'm glad my heart is ok and but this was a horribly traumatizing experience.

Wonderful personality...he took the time to explain my condition(s) and answered the many questions that I had. The wait time was awful though and his staff were rather loud in their conversation with one another and the customers. It was standing room only on my appointment day (Too much patients scheduled at the same time)!

I have seen countless doctors for the same condition and none provided me the level of utmost care, compassion and gracefulness that Dr. Sokol provided me with today. First and foremost, his humbleness precedes him. He speaks to you not as a patient, but as if you are a long-term friend and offers the kind of advice that most people will seek from a well-established life coach. He is extremely knowledgable in his field, really listens to your worries and provides assistance in areas you need most. I would recommend him everyone.

Dr. Sergio provides excellent care. I have had past cardiac concerns. I quit smoking. I lost weight 30 lbs under supervision of MD. I am currently able to perform my daily work and life activities without distress. I will continue to be under the care. My blood pressure is stable with cardiology follow up. Dr. Sokol has always returned my calls. His staff is very professional.
