About Dr. Sevasti Margetas
Dr. Sevasti Margetas is a board certified dermatologist and practices general and cosmetic dermatology.
She completed her undergraduate training at Temple University from the Honors Program and then went to Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) where she also graduated with Honors. She finished her specialty training in Dermatology at the Lehigh Valley Health Network and PCOM while doing research on skin cancer at the University of Pennsylvania.
She is an advocate for skin cancer prevention and has extensive experience in dermatological surgery for the treatment of skin cancer. She also specializes in cosmetic skin enhancement. She has advanced training and experience in therapeutic cosmetic dermatologic procedures such as facial fillers, botulinum toxins (Botox™) and lasers.
Dr. Margetas looks forward to improving the lives of those with skin disease and enhancing those with cosmetic concerns.

This was my first appointment with this doctor. The doctor I had loved, had left the practice, and I was never notified. This is an extremely poor way to treat your patients. I feel like I should have been notified.
The new doctor didn't even know where my melanoma was that I had removed almost 2 years ago. (The info was in my chart.) She stressed the importance of eye appointments because I am older now and unable to see as well as I used too. She stressed the importance of wanting me to return every 6 months, "because insurance will cover it, and we can take a better look then you can." My insurance does not cover the appointment, but she assumed it would.
Overall, I felt like I was seen as a number, and not a true person with feelings. Her bedside manner was rushed and inpersonal.
I am looking for a new provider.

Dr. Margetas was very rushed during my skin check. I felt she did not even do a thorough overall check. Her bedside manner is very abrupt. The office staff has zero regard for patient privacy. They make you sign HiPAA docs, yet turn around yelling across the front desk staff, personal data while the packed waiting area is listening in. I found the visit very unprofessional. I have actually scheduled another check with another practice because I do not trust I was given adequate care.

I waited for months for this appointment to see this doctor and she was in the office with me for no more than three minutes. She did not introduce herself or Ask me anything. She had zero bedside manner. She quickly dismissed my concerns did not even take take a look with a magnifier. Her “full body scan” lasted maybe 60 seconds. They didn’t document size or shake of anything.

The appointment with the provider was rushed and impersonal. She knew this was my first cancer screening yet did not provide any information about anything at all except for the 2 things I specifically asked about. And even that was so rushed that I'm not sure I understand what's supposed to happen with this cream I'm supposed to use. I felt like she ran in and ran out. (I have to call the office to see if the cream was called in because they said that could take a few days - which is understandable.)
I took my son to see a provider in the same practice and she was great, so I was expecting a similar experience. I will go back to the practice, but will choose a different provider next time.

This review will likely fall to the wayside with the rest of them but, for the 1 or 2 people that see it, I have this to say about my experience... I sincerely hope Dr. Margetas has a better rest of her day and that I don't take her behavior personal. She seemed upset about something unrelated to my appointment which could explain the incredibly unfriendly and unprofessional attitude she had from the second she walked into the exam room, this was after I waited almost 30 minutes past my appointment time... Her assistant wasn't very pleasant either. We all have off days, but personally, I have no intention on returning to this office.

I sincerely appreciate the expertise that Dr. Margetis shares during my appointments. She asks pertinent questions and answers all my questions and provides the care I need with updated information regarding the new sunscreen information that has recently been in the3 news about skin cancer. Dr. Margetis wrote down what kinds of sunscreen I should use. She also provided me with a better and updated prescription for a skin problem.
